Your Voice. Your Vote. Every Decision.
WeVote puts Australians in charge of every major parliamentary decision—secure, transparent, and people-powered.
WeVote
Your Voice. Your Vote. Every Decision.
Party Overview
WeVote could be a new Australian political party that gives citizens a direct say on every major parliamentary decision. Using secure, independently audited technology, WeVote will conduct citizen ballots on bills, budgets, and major motions; WeVote MPs will be bound to vote in Parliament according to those verified ballot outcomes. This model restores trust, increases transparency, and ensures Parliament reflects the people’s will—on demand, not just once every election cycle. Do you think we should create this party?
1) Real Democracy in Action
Australians want a stronger voice in decisions that affect them. WeVote provides a secure platform for citizens to participate in binding issue-by-issue ballots that guide our MPs’ votes in Parliament.
2) Binding Representation
WeVote MPs act as delegates of the people. Their parliamentary votes follow the verified result of citizen ballots. This makes representation predictable, accountable, and transparent.
4) Equal Voice for Every Citizen
Every eligible Australian has one vote of equal weight in WeVote ballots. Accessibility features and simple participation options ensure a fair, nationwide experience.
5) Informed Decision-Making
For each ballot, citizens receive neutral, balanced briefs summarising the issue, options, and trade-offs—along with links to expert reviews and pro/con arguments—so votes are informed, not driven by slogans.
6) Flexible Participation
Citizens can vote directly on each issue or delegate their vote to a trusted proxy (e.g., a professional body or community leader). Delegations are revocable at any time.
7) Transparency Without Compromise
WeVote sets a new standard in financial and operational transparency—including real-time donation and expenditure disclosures and published audit summaries of the voting platform.
8) Building Trust in Politics Again
By returning decision-making power to citizens, WeVote offers a practical path to restore trust—clear rules, visible processes, verifiable outcomes.
9) National Pilot Projects
WeVote will continuously run public pilot ballots on high-salience policy questions (e.g., health, energy, digital rights) to demonstrate performance, security, and legitimacy at scale.
10) Global Leadership in Digital Democracy
Australia can lead the world in democratic innovation. WeVote’s approach shows how modern technology can strengthen, not weaken, representative institutions.

Position Australia as a model for secure, people-directed governance, sharing best practice with civil society, academia, and international partners.
WeVote Party – Direct Democracy in Australia | Your Voice, Your Vote, Every Decision
Constitutional & Legal Fit
Fully compliant as a party model: WeVote’s citizen ballots bind WeVote MPs only. Parliament remains sovereign; constitutional change still requires a referendum.
Elections remain AEC-run: WeVote’s ballots are a party decision mechanism, not a replacement for AEC elections.
Transparency and audits: Independent audits and clear authorisations support compliance and public confidence.
WeVote is a people-powered movement giving Australians a direct say in every major decision with secure, transparent digital ballots.
WeVote Is Not Yet a Registered Political Party
WeVote is not currently a registered political party with the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC). At this stage, WeVote is an exploratory initiative to see if Australians want a new, citizen-driven movement where every major parliamentary decision is guided by direct public ballots.
We are inviting Australians to vote on whether WeVote should be formally established.
If a majority supports the idea, we will begin the process of forming and registering WeVote with the AEC.
If there is not majority support, no party will be formed.
This process ensures that the very creation of WeVote is itself decided democratically—by the people, for the people.
Should WeVote Become a Registered Party?
WeVote is not yet a registered political party. We are exploring whether Australians want this new, citizen-powered democracy model to be established. Only if a majority supports it will we begin the process of official party registration with the AEC.
